It's like a typical izakaya but it's located opposite a popular gaijin hang out on the north side of shimokitazawa. What's nice about this place is that it has a comfy ambience and jazzy music eventhough yakitori is the dish you'll most likely to find on the menu. The starter dish is usually nice. ... more

Living close to Tohachi Dori which skirts off the mitaka/suginami ward area, I realise how I am conveniently located to reach NATURE on a wide scale by the push of my bicycle peddles. If one has to reach Jindai area, a stream of regular traffic has to be confronted before, you are exposed to lush ... more

Located just on the side from the Kiomizu Temple, is a nice and quaint shrine. People wanting to sanctify their marriage, relationships or birth of their child can pay from 500 yen or more for a 'omomari'.....a folded up paper blessing which is put into a sewn up little fabric pouch. Those things ... more

One of my favorite places here, sometimes when you get tired, bored and depressed etc, maybe you can feel relaxed and invigorated in this typical lazy and spacy atmosphere which the animals make. You can see the same kind of bored faces in routine work, as most of us have, in the office, school, ... more

To all worshippers of do-it-yourself craft shops. I believe this is one of the BIGGEST and most popular chain stores in Tokyo. There are several spread out across Tokyo though, this one is lumped into one building and it is actually on top of Kichijoji Station 吉祥寺 駅 so it takes less than ... more

This store is overflowing with a mix of t-shirts designed with a Japanese sense of aesthetic. It seems though, the store's main market is male, so don't expect to saunter in and ask for some kimono. Dimly lit and tiny, it is hard to choose a ... more
