  • nice introduction..i have been to this restaurant for dinner..and as you described they have quite a good selection of shochu..though i don't think the taste of it agrees with me much..

the food is great..charcoal grilled fish, bacon, pork, beef...fantastic taste, wonderful ambience..in a quiet corner and away from the many Japanese restaurants sprouted up around the robertson quay area...

only thing missing is the restaurant should have a smoking section within the establishment..then the feel would be like in real Japanese eating house...

Hey thirsty folks! New shochu dining bar arrives in 2007 :)

Satsuma (さつま or 薩摩) is the ancient name of the current Kagoshima prefecture in Japan. It is the place that produces the best imo (sweet potato) shochu. The restaurant serves charcoal grill dishes and Tokyo cuisine, tapas styled food and a good variety of shoshu selection. It is under the same management of Crystal Wine shop and Shunjuu Izakaya.

You will find Satsuma in Singapore's first hip art design hotel - The Gallery Hotel.
