The free pool is great, and the chips are outstanding, but don't drink the draft beer there if you care for your body at all.
For an extra coupla hundred yen you can drink from a bottle and stay functional the next day.

... behind Hankyu Umeda Station. It's near fishtank alley, and you're always sure to have a few characters hanging around drinking on the cheap. Tatoos and gappy smiles, broken hands and shattered lives; it can start the evening off on just the right tack if you are lucky.

Probably my favorite place to drink in Umeda. I almost always stop in for a burger and a beer if I'm in town before 8. But otherwise they got wicked staff who will chat u up!

There are 2 blow bars in Amemura/Shinsaibashi area. They are both on the same street as Balabushka but a little more south (like about 1-2mins).

I went to the Tunisia restaurant. Chef is Tunisian. Staff is very nice. I ate lamb Couscous and Brik, Chakchouka, Salad mechouia, etc... It was delicious.

Lunch is a really good deal, I found dinner a bit pricey for what you get. Be warned if you peek in the doghouse, that's one BIG dog with a BIG bark!

If you are in Osaka near the Shinsaibashi checkout Chibo restaurant. I go there everyday when I'm in Osaka and love the Okonomiyaki, especially the Negiyaki.
