My favourite album of 2006 was actually Funkadelic's "Maggot Brain", but that came out over three decades ago... so I guess Burial's eponymous album gets the vote instead. I've seen this described both as a concept album about a future London that's been flooded by rising seas, and as a mourning for the death of rave culture... both kind of make sense. Great headphone music, either way.
