Robert Pirzig has with this novel (no, it's not actually about the nuts and bolts of a motorcycle) created a masterpiece about as difficult topic as "quality" and it's definition.
It is followed up by the book Lila, which is nearly as good and looks into "morals"
Both books are a bit tough to comprehend and at parts it will take a few re-reading of paragraphs to fully understand the depth of what Pirzig is trying to tell.
You can read the book as it was about a guy and his son travelling across the states together on a motorcycle; but you should really start reading between the lines - it's depth will impress and astonish you
