  • LondonGuy54 says: More Cans Festival
Banksy is currently the most famous street-artist in London yet he remains anonymous and never reveals himself.
This work makes fun of the fact that Banksy remains secretive. Is it by another artist or is it a joke by Banksy about himself?
  • LondonGuy54 says: More from the Cans Festival
Here are some more photos from the Cans Festival in London at the weekend.
Not many of the works were tagged by the artists so it was difficult for me to know who was responsible for which paintings. I am guessing this one was by Banksy. Does anyone know?
As you can see it shows a life-size graffiti cleaner erasing prehistoric cave-paintings from a wall. Last year there were protests after a Banksy picture on a wall in London was erased.

The "Cans Festival" of street-art was held in London this weekend (a holiday weekend in UK). It was located in a street that forms a tunnel under the Waterloo railway terminus near the centre of the city, not far from the Parliament building. Banksy and other artists from UK and countries as far as Argentina, Australia, Brazil, USA and other places (but not Japan...why not?) created some amazingly beautiful and often clever work.
The weekend was a live event where anyone could register and create their own work using a spraycan and stencils.
In addition to painted works there were a number of installations made from crashed cars and even live exhibits where people sat on a beach or played a piano.
It was incredibly popular. When I arrived on the afternoon of the third day the line-up was maybe a thousand people long, so it took me an hour of waiting to enter. But it was worth it...one of the most exciting art works in London for a long time.
I don't know who organised the weekend but they did a great job. Great art, great fun and all for free. Organised anarchy!
I've taken about 60 photos, too many to post here. I'll upload a couple now and more in the coming days. If anyone wants to see all the photos please send me a message and we'll find a way.
