Unfortunately, I will be out of town during Gion Matsuri but they are already building the floats along Shijo... they are huge! So who is going to go to Gion Matsuri next tuesday?

hey all. i lived in kyoto for 3 years, but i cant say im into the gaijin bars and poor club scene myself. personally, i prefer a drunken night by kamogawa, or chillin at the top of daimonji.

As far as going out at night, head to Kiyamachi between Sanjo and Shijo. That area is a maze of bars and a few clubs are there too. Just wander around poke your head into a few buildings and you should be able to find a place to party...

I was at Club Metro the other night and it tends to be fun...
