I have made a bento lunch only one time. In it I made a California Sushi Roll, Black Tea Eggs, and a Mango Salad that was unbelievable.
I had found a few very simple recipies on this page:
http://www.bluetreegallery.com/bluetreeh ouse_recipe.html
And I'm so thankful for that site, being a beginner at making Japanese cuisine of any kind!
By the way, I've been so curious for a long while about this: Very often I see images of what looks like a grilled fish as a main dish served for breakfast. What kind of fish is usually used for breakfast, and how exactly is it prepared and/or cooked? Does anyone know? I'd greatly appreciate it!
