  没後120年記念河鍋暁斎 （仮称）
  
  河鍋暁斎（1831～89）は、初め浮世絵を、次いで狩野派を学び、幕末・明治期の江戸・東京で活躍しました。
  　この展覧会では、暁斎没後120年を記念し、初期から晩年にいたる暁斎の重要作品を選りすぐって紹介します。あっと驚く奇想的な作品はもとより、暁斎の骨格を形づくった狩野派的側面をしめす作品もあわせた、はじめての体系的な展示となります。
  　当館では、伊藤若冲、曾我蕭白と、近世絵画の強烈な個性を紹介してきました。今回の河鍋暁斎も、そのラインナップに加わる画家。単なる奔放ではない、基礎的修練の上に生まれた強烈な個性は、あなたの心をとらえてはなさいでしょう。

  Interesting exhibition where the visitors vote for the pieces they want to see in this "best of" exhibition. Lots of painting but mainly Edo Rimpa, a decorative style of Japanese painting.
