That's a good point. Vista also has a bundled piece of software called Windows Calendar. Here's the full details:

It doesn't seem to be as fully featured as Outlook though (e.g. it doesn't seem you can just publish free/busy info like I do at http://andrewshttleworth.com/cal (redirect) ) and it's not as intuitive. For example, the graphic shows the publish dialog. I've no idea (as a non-tech person) what would be an easy way to publish to an internet accessible location and he 'Where can I publish this calendar?' link just links to the above page.

I've been using Vista since BETA 2. The search features are really nice. My laptop graphics card doesn't support Aero (the nice interface features).
Office 2007 is also nice. Easier to find and use some of the more advanced features. Outlook finally catches up to Mac and Google caledar and has nice calendar sharing features.
